Degrees of comparison
- Mark is fast but Bob is faster. –
- Jack is the fastest runner in our team. –
- He drives fast, but we can drive faster than him.
- We drive the fastest we can.

- сute → cuter → the cutest
- pale → paler → the palest
- late → later → the latest
Двоскладові прикметники, що закінчуються на суфікси -ow, -le, -er, -y, можуть утворювати вищий та найвищий ступені порівняння як за допомогою суфіксів -er и -est, так і використовуючи слова more (більш) та (the) most (найбільш).
- crazy → crazier → the craziest
- crazy → more crazy →the most crazy
- pretty → prettier → the prettiest
- pretty → more pretty →the most pretty
- narrow → narrower → the narrowest
- narrow → more narrow →the most narrow
- quiet – quieter → the quietest
- quiet → more quiet → the most quiet
- simple → simpler → the simplest
- simple → more simple → the most simple
More та most
- useful → more useful → the most useful
- stupid → more stupid → the most stupid
- curious → more curious → the most curious
- impressive → more impressive → the most impressive
- often → more often → the most often
- wisely → more wisely → the most wisely
- comfortably → more comfortably → the most comfortably
- independently → more independently → the most independently
- tired → more tired → the most tired
- hurt → more hurt → the most hurt
- caring → more caring → the most caring
- worrying → more worrying → the most worrying
- annoyed → more annoyed → the most annoyed

- early → earlier → the earliest
- loudly → loudlier → the loudliest
- quickly → quicker → the quickest
- quickly → more quickly → the most quickly
- slowly → slower → the slowest
- slowly → more slowly → the most slowly

- Choose a softer pillow. –
- I have two pillows. I can give you the softer one. –
- He is the most powerful man in the world.
- Kate is the cutest girl i have ever met. –
- You should drive the fastest you can because we are already late. –
- Use this information most wisely. –
- This man is (the) most powerful as he controls all banks in our country. –
- Kate is (the) cutest when she wears this dress. –
- I am most happy to see you again. –
- These kids are most clever children. –
- You are right, Marry is a most beautiful woman. –

Football is the world’s most popular sport. It is a team sport. A
football team has got eleven players. A team wins by scoring goals. The players
must kick the ball. They try to kick the ball into the other team’s goal. Only
the goal keeper can pick up the ball. The other ten players mustn’t pick up the
ball. The most famous football competition is the World Cup.
Tennis is another very
popular sport. The players stand in an area called a court. They stand behind a
net. They hit a tennis ball to each other with a racket. The ball must go over
the net. It mustn’t hit the net and it mustn’t go out of the court. In some
games there are only two players. This is called singles. In other games two
